It's been busy this month, but I did manage to start and finish Chatelaine's Micro 02 mini mandala over the course of the last week or so. Each of this series (there will be 4 in all) have two different colorways. The fabric is a Silkweaver Solo, 32ct and sort of a lavender/green color. The threads and embellishments are as called for. I used the center over 1 section from one colorway, and the rest from the second, mainly because I LOVE the Gloriana Tropical Seas color and wanted to use it as much as possible! It is used on the center, the flower eyelets and the border woven stitches and corner eyelets.
Next up is Castles in the Air, from Papillon....starting on the blackwork fence!
It is absolutely beautiful. It sort of reminds me of her Egyptian Garden Mandala. I think it uses Tropical Seas too (which I also think is fabulous).
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Can't wait to see the others. I had not seen this pattern before.
ReplyDeleteAha! I finally figured out how to workaround Blogger's Google Chrome bug so I could post a comment! =) This is lovely; the colors are wonderful. Congratulations on the happy dance!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love that turquoise!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! I love the colours you used; they work together perfectly, even though you combined two colourways. Fabulous work! :)
ReplyDeleteStunning finish! I have no idea what the original colourways were like but your meld looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you mixed it up!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Kathy! It's really pretty.
ReplyDeleteThis is such an elegant piece, congrats on such a gorgeous finish!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! (waving at Heather!...hey gal!)
ReplyDeleteThe other colorway had more light blue, which didn't show up well on the light fabric. Yes, Tropical Seas was used on EG, but every last inch was used up....now I have leftovers to savor! BTW, you can still sign up for this one, and the third as well. Fourth will come out later this year. First one will be available again after all have been released.
Your micro is absolutely beautiful: many congrats to you kathy :-)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours and stitching. Good look with Castles. I've just about caught it up!!
ReplyDeleteHappy stitching to you
This is stunning! I'm off to investigate these Chatelaine Micro's. . . More to add to the wish list :)
