Castles in the Air progress report

Once again I have some progress to post on Castles in the Air by Papillon....part 8 has been added! In April I am going to try and catch up as pts. 9 and 10 have been released. Part 8 included the two vertical elements to the left of the center. Part 9 will be the same for the other side. I have shown a close-up, and this is the whole piece so far. It's quite large so I have been stitching it upside down to make it easier to reach. Easy really, all you do is flip it, and the pattern and the color key too...so the symbols don't confuse you!


I decided after this that I had better get started on Mother's Day gifts, so I pulled out a couple of Hummel pillow kits. I have had them for a while, and Mom and hubby's Mom aren't getting any younger! Started Lily of the Valley for my mom, and will work on Daisy Girl for MIL next month.

Biscornu again!

I'm still stitching a biscornu a month, just to reduce the collection! This month it is another collaboration biscornu from Cat's Whiskers and Dinky-Dyes, the Winter Wonderland biscornu. I changed the fabric to Silkweaver's 28ct Alpine Ice Reflections, and used crystal beads in place of the stars that came with it. Stitched the top with one silk sequence, and reversed it for the back. Fun and quick!

Latest progress report on CaHRH....block 3 is done! Doing one block a month, stitched over 1 on 40ct silk gauze. Each block is 2.3 inches square.

Started my monthly biscornu last night....more on that later!

The Branch, by Bent Creek

Started March 2nd, finished March 13th...this is Bent Creek's The Branch, a set of five leaflets stitched together. This was fun! Fabric is Silkweaver's 32ct Dreamin' jobelan. Another for my framer in April....along with several other finishes. Now I'm working on block 3 of Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow. Update on that soon!

Finished up part 7 of Castles in the Air! I'm gradually getting caught up, and will do parts 8 and 9 later this month. Part 7 is the two diamond motifs on either side of the peacocks. Click on the picture to see a larger view.

Sweetheart Tree Biscornu

I have several Sweetheart Tree biscornu kits that I am going to stitch this year. This is #3, the Baby Shamrock Biscornu, before and after assembly. Kits come with fabric, beads and threads.

I got them out of order, so I guess I'll do the second one next month, and then get back on track.

A friend asked me to add a heart to a Round Robin she has going, so I'll be doing that next, then back to one of my large WiPs!

Dragon Feathers progress...

The rotation is working...got around to the Dragon Feathers afghan again, finishing another block. Now only three left, plus the edge finishing. The end is in sight! Started another biscornu by Sweetheart Tree this time. Castles in the Air is up after that.

And here it is....Block 2 of CaHRH by Carriage House Samplings! Second pic is my progress so far, with scissors to show scale. Each block is aproximately 2.3 inches square. Stitched on 40ct silk gauze over one, with DMC and SNC. This weekend I'm working on the Dragon Feathers afghan again.

M Designs Name Tree

A new cousin was born in the extended family in December, and I've finished her name tree this week! Here is a link to the picture (no peeking Kevin and Jill!)...it's gonna be a few weeks before I can get it to my framer. These are so fun to do and personalize!

I started working on the second block of Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow this week too, and will post a picture as soon as it's done.

Castles in the Air progress report

I have finally made some more progress on Papillon's Castles in the Air! The fabric fading seems to be equalizing, so pt. 6 has been added. It's getting quite large!

I started a name tree for the newest cousin in the family last night. These things work up fast, so I hope to start block 2 of CaHRH later this week.
